Photography Competition 2013

So I have decided that we will run the photography competition from now until the summer holidays and the subject will be ‘Water’. This means you will have an ideal opportunity to take some great photos at camp next month. We want NEW photos taken between March 19 and July 2 (and before you ask, I can find out exactly when you took the photos), the winner will be announced on July 16 at our last meeting before the summer break.

Here are some of my images for inspiration.

Good luck!

A note from the DC to the Chase teams…

Elizabeth sent me a message to pass on to all of the walkers in the Chase Walk last weekend:

Please can you pass on my Congratulations to the Unit for their success in the Chase Walk.

I note from the programme that the Unit has been taking part in this event for 8 years now…..and are still one of the most successful groups in the competition ….and still hold the record for the 14-18 years group.

Very well done to the competitors and of course the support staff for making it possible.

The District is very proud of you all.

For those of you that have not heard, both teams put in great times, the Wanger Society won the Rock trophy with the second fastest time of the weekend and the Born survivors narrowly missed out on the Knot trophy but still walked 3rd fastest in the under 18s category.

So, who thinks they are up to the challenge next year? Registration starts in November.

Well done to all of you.

Final details for the Chase Walk

Chase logo 2013

All,

As mentioned yesterday Meagan, Ellie and myself will be at Beaudesert from around 14:00.  Please get to the site as early as possible.  I believe either Steve or Elliot will bring your tent when they arrive.

Bring all of your normal camping gear for the Friday and Saturday nights, bring some cash to buy food on both evenings, we will be doing a chippie run on Friday.

Please, please, please double check your kit against the kit list before you come, none of us want to have to come back home to pick something up, and make sure you bring your payment for the camp (if you have not paid already) and your health forms if you have not handed one in yet.

If you are responsible for kit for your team please ensure you have that equipment with you also and bring a chair, otherwise you will be sitting on the floor on Friday and Saturday night.

Make sure you all stock up on your carbs, eat more pasta, bread, potatoes etc. this will help your energy levels on the walk.

See you at Beaudesert on Friday.

Dodgeball @ Fenton Manor March 19

dodgeball

All,

Next week (March 19) we are going to be meeting at Fenton Manor at 18:00 to play dodgeball.  Please bring your usual subs.  We are only playing for an hour so please get there in time!  We start at 18:00 sharp.  Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear and it might be wise to bring some form of liquid refreshment.  We need at least 12 of you to play an official game.

See you there before 18:00

Module A Course

As I mentioned last night there is a Module A course at Consall Scout camp next Monday between 20:00 and 22:00.  If you are available please get yourself down there and get this course done, once it is complete you will be able to help out with other groups, and it is free of charge.  Please let me know if you plan to go so I can let Julie know you are coming.

Here is a map for those of you that do not know where Consall Scout camp is:
