Theme Park Camp

A couple of weeks ago I was talking to a few of you about the annual theme park camp down south.  This year the camp is Sept 7 – 9th and they will be going to Thorpe Park on the Saturday.  The price of the camp is £42 which includes camp fees, entry to Thorpe Park and transportation to and from Thorpe Park.  Over and above that would be transportation costs from here down south and food.  I would guess the price would be something like £70 – £80 each for the weekend (but don’t quote me on that).

Let me know if you are interested in the weekend and we will see if we can book it up.

Polo shirt order deadline

Awesome walls booked

I have booked awesome walls for March 13 for a feeble 16 people.  Fortunately awesome walls have said I can confirm numbers 1 week before we go so if you want to come PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND PAY YOUR £12 ASAP!!!

Fund raising opportunity

Dave Thomas contacted me yesterday (Callum’s Dad for those of you that don’t know) with an opportunity for 12 of you to raise some funds towards your scouting.

One of his colleagues at work is a member of a local archery club.  The have a competition coming up at birches head and they need about 12 volunteers to help setting up and moving targets throughout the day.  They will make a donation to the unit or your help and they will provide drinks during the event.

The competition is on May 13th and the volunteers are required at the venue for a 7:30am start.

Chase challenge practice walk

For the practice walk this sunday you will meet at the windmill pub car park (Meir Heath) at 8 am SHARP to be taken to Cannock Chase to walk the first half of the route.  Please make sure you bring food and drink with you as you will be walking over lunch.

We are expecting to see the whole team there on Sunday (except Tom Moss, I believe Tom is on a first aid course).  I have included a map below of where you are meeting

According to the Taybarns website the meal will cost £7.99 plus £2.30 for a bottomless soft drink so you will need to bring £10.29 with you.  Here is the ‘menu‘.

Tomorrow night we will be playing a few games and doing an egg drop.

@Girls – Don’t wear any skirts this week, one of the games we might play really would need trousers.

Don’t forget if you have said you want to come climbing next month and you have not yet paid your money please bring it tomorrow night.
